Pacers Could Lose O’Neal for Season

Indiana Pacer forward Jermaine O’Neal probably will not play again this season because of a shoulder injury he sustained March 3.

Pacer Coach Rick Carlisle said Wednesday that doctors were still waiting for the swelling to subside and that no decision had been made on surgery.

Three men were sentenced to probation and community service in Rochester Hills, Mich., for their part in a Nov. 19 brawl involving the Pacers and Detroit Pistons.

Alvin Shackelford Jr. received one year of probation and 150 hours of community service and Charlie Haddad got two years probation and 100 hours of community service, plus an additional 10 weekends of community service after pleading no contest to violating a local ordinance against entering a performance space. Jeremy Handley got one year of probation and 75 hours of community service after pleading guilty to violating a local ordinance against throwing objects at a sporting event.
