Today Disney brings us “Ice Princess” with Michele Trachtenberg as a girl with a head for figures and a heart for figure skating. With all the romantic, dramatic and athletic possibilities, one would think ice skating would offer plenty of potential outside the hockey rink. One would be wrong. Here are eight of the top grossing films that take place in the realm of ice skating or hockey. Figures for “Ice Castles,” a 1978 youthful tear-jerker with Lynn-Holly Johnston and Robbie Benson, were not available.
