Chicago White Sox left-hander Mark Buehrle is expected to miss at least one spring training start after tests showed he injured his left foot while shagging flyballs last weekend.

White Sox trainer Herm Schneider described the injury as a “stress reaction” but not a fracture.

Buehrle, the team’s scheduled opening-day starter, underwent an MRI exam Monday morning, but when that was inconclusive, he had a CT scan.

“Considering I can stand and walk on it, it is 120% better. I couldn’t do that yesterday,” Buehrle said. “I came in today and everything was fine. I couldn’t even tell there was anything wrong with my foot.”

Curt Schilling made his first game appearance of the spring, giving up two runs and three hits over three innings against a team of Boston Red Sox minor leaguers.

Kazuhisa Ishii, traded Sunday from the Dodgers to the New York Mets, reported to Met camp.

Ishii made some changes during the off-season and says his control is better and his fastball is now 90 mph-plus.

He said he also read sports philosophy books.

“I would like it if everyone did not get too nervous about the walks,” Ishii said through an interpreter after reporting to the Mets. “I just want to keep my concentration up and maintain and focus on putting zeros on the boards.”
