Krispy Kreme Will End Test Shops in Wal-Mart

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc., the No. 2 U.S. doughnut chain, plans to close six test shops in Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to cut costs amid declining sales.

The company will shut five stores this month and one in April, a spokeswoman for North Carolina-based Krispy Kreme, said. The chain will continue to sell boxes of doughnuts in more than 500 Wal-Mart stores.

Krispy Kreme shares rose 28 cents to $9.15 on the NYSE.
