A Ventura street, shabby and chic

Share
Special to The Times

Ventura’s Main Street is hardly mainstream. The primary draw of this oceanfront, old mission town is a four-block stretch of funky antique malls and downright down-and-dirty charity thrift shops sandwiched among upscale cafes, whitewashed shabby chic boutiques and made-in-Asia modern furniture galleries. In early 20th century shop fronts and newly converted banks, you’ll find nautical treasures, California crafts, European antiques and all-Americana kitsch.
