The icons of Canadian music will be commemorated in a hall of fame to be established in Toronto, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences said Tuesday.

The $30-million Canadian Music Hall of Fame, which counts singer-composers Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young among its 57 inductees, is scheduled to open its doors by the summer of 2007 at Toronto’s downtown Dundas Square.
