Terminal at LAX Is Cleared in Bomb Scare
Times Staff and Wire Reports
Terminal 2 at Los Angeles International Airport was evacuated for about 40 minutes Wednesday night after a bomb-sniffing dog singled out a suspicious piece of luggage, but a Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad determined that the suitcase was harmless, officers said.
The terminal serves Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Hawaiian Air, Northwest and several other airlines.
Operations at the terminal were back to normal by 10:30 p.m., police said.
