Interior’s report will hasten damage to planet

Share

Re “Habitats May Shrink by Leaps, Bounds,” Nov. 4

The simple fact that Gale Norton’s Interior Department excluded independent data supporting the financial, environmental and human benefits of protecting critical habitat is reason enough to view as unfairly biased its “analysis” that protecting habitat is too financially burdensome.

This skewed modus operandi will not only hasten species extinction, it will hasten the fouling of the clean air and water that we humans rely on. You can bet that if environmental groups were among the GOP’s biggest donors, critical habitat would be protected in a heartbeat.

Re frogs versus condos: Who needs those dumb old frogs anyway? California needs lots and lots more condos. Who wants to stand looking at a teeming wetland for hours?
