Former School Official Pleads Guilty in Theft
A former assistant superintendent at a Long Island school district where auditors uncovered $11.2 million in theft pleaded guilty in a deal that will send her to prison for a maximum nine years and require her to repay $4 million.
Pamela Gluckin, 59, of Mastic also agreed to turn over records implicating at least five others in the Roslyn School District embezzlement scheme, including her son, prosecutors said.
The school system in the well-to-do community 20 miles east of Manhattan is among the best in the state, sending 95% of its graduates to college.
