Woman Is Seriously Injured in Pit Bull Attack

A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday night when her pit bull attacked her, tearing a strip of flesh from her face and biting her hand, authorities said.
The attack occurred at 8 p.m. in the 100 block of South Street in North Long Beach. Animal control officers used a Taser stun gun to subdue and capture the dog, which remains in custody.
