Robbery Suspect Dies After Chase, Gun Battle

Ten police officers exchanged gunfire with a robbery suspect during a 30-minute car chase Thursday that ended with the man being fatally wounded, officials said Friday.
The suspect was identified as Santino Juarez, who lived in the city’s Encanto neighborhood.
Nine of the officers were from the San Diego Police Department, one from National City’s. The chase began when the driver allegedly refused orders from police to pull over.
