Kids a natural with modern furniture

RE “Meet the Mini-Modernists” [Aug. 25]: My husband and I are Modernists and have lived in a Case Study house for over 10 years. Whenever our friends bring their children over, the kids plop themselves at the low-profile Eames surfboard table, where they will happily color. Another big draw for them is sitting in the brightly colored crazy-shaped coconut chair, or Eames LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) chair.

Just last weekend when friends were visiting with their 4-year-old, I watched as she studied the forms and tried out all the furnishings with a very big smile. Despite what many say, Modernism is very kid friendly.
