In the ‘70s, Vivienne Westwood rocked London with her punk couture boutiques, Seditionaries and Sex. Now the legendary designer wants you to walk all over her. Westwood is the latest clothing designer to create a collection for London-based the Rug Co., which is scheduled to open a 5,000-square-foot showroom in L.A. today. Her rugs include deconstructed Union Jack and tartans, patterns that reference her punk-era beginnings and lavish florals that reflect her period costume-influenced fashion. The 100-knot wool African Daisy, $85 per square foot, and Magnolia, $90 per square foot, are hand woven in Nepal. They’re also available in silk at $150 per square foot. 8202 Melrose Ave., (323) 653-0303, www.therugcompany.info.
