Katrina concert: Lisa Haley and the Zydekats, a Louisiana zydeco band, will perform at Universal CityWalk at 7 p.m. Friday as part of a fundraising event to build a home for a Gulf Coast evacuee family. The first 500 people to donate $50 or more will receive a free ticket to Universal Studios Hollywood.

Katrina donations: Director Steven Spielberg and his family are donating $750,000 to the American Red Cross and $750,000 to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund. Actor-director George Clooney will donate $1 million to the United Way Hurricane Katrina Response Fund. The Recording Academy and its MusiCares Foundation have pledged an initial donation of $1 million to help “music people” affected by the hurricane. The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. has donated $250,000 to the Red Cross.

Cream reunion: Following its four-night reunion in London in May, ‘60s rock band Cream -- Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker -- will play what’s being announced as its only U.S. shows on Oct. 24, 25 and 26 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
