Hospital Consultant’s Invoices to Be Reviewed

From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a motion requiring its auditor and the Department of Health Services to review invoices from Navigant Consulting Inc. for work at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, and report on its findings next Tuesday.

A Times review found that the firm had double-billed for plane tickets and charged the county for first-class travel and trips unrelated to the public hospital in Willowbrook. Navigant, hired to improve care at the hospital, has sent a team to work with the county on the bills.
