Calgary Falls but Clinches Playoff Spot

Ed Jovanovski scored the winning goal with 2:33 left in overtime, lifting the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Saturday night at Vancouver, Canada.

Despite the loss, Calgary clinched a playoff spot by forcing overtime, giving the Flames a point for the seventh consecutive game.

The Canucks kept their playoff aspirations alive, moving into an eighth-place tie with San Jose. Vancouver has four games remaining, including a home-and-home set with the Sharks on Wednesday and Thursday.

Jussi Jokinen and Bill Guerin scored in a shootout to give Dallas a 3-2 victory over Phoenix at Glendale, Ariz.... Paul Kariya scored in the second round of a shootout and Nashville clinched its second consecutive playoff berth with a 2-1 victory over Chicago at Nashville, Tenn.
