‘Kippenberger’ to go to MoMA

Share

“Martin Kippenberger: The Problem Perspective,” a major retrospective exhibition of the late German artist’s work organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, will travel to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Originally scheduled to open in October, the show has been postponed about two years to accommodate MoMA and other potential venues. Dates have yet to be confirmed, but “Kippenberger” is expected to open in L.A. in fall 2008, then go to New York and elsewhere.

Organized by MOCA senior curator Ann Goldstein, the exhibition will fill both of the L.A. museum’s downtown facilities with a diverse array of works by a creative force who cast himself as an impresario, entertainer, curator, collector, architect and publisher.
