Deputy D.A. Named Superior Court Judge

Deputy Dist. Atty. William Jefferson Powell IV was appointed judge to the San Bernardino Superior Court on Thursday by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Powell, 36, of Yucaipa, has served as county prosecutor since 1995 and was an adjunct professor for California Baptist University from 1997 to 2000. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Frederick A. Mandabach.
