Padilla’s Chief of Staff Arrested After Dispute
The chief of staff to Councilman Alex Padilla was arrested on suspicion of battery Thursday night and the case will be submitted to the city attorney for a determination of whether to file a misdemeanor charge, a police official said.
Los Angeles Police Sgt. Lee Sands said there was a dispute at one of Padilla’s offices and that an unidentified “private person made a citizen’s arrest for battery” against Felipe Fuentes, who is on leave while he works on Padilla’s campaign for state Senate.
A Padilla spokesperson declined to comment Friday night.
