Window Cleaner Is Crushed to Death

A window cleaner was crushed to death Tuesday by an elevator as he was cleaning the glass shaft at a building in Chinatown, fire officials said. They said the man, whose name and age were not released, died of massive head injuries after the elevator descended on him as he cleaned the inside of the shaft. Authorities were called to the building in the 900 block of North Hill Street just after noon.
