at Oakland 6, Tampa Bay 3: Joe Blanton (13-9) pitched 6 1/3 strong innings to get the win. Jason Kendall drove in two runs for Oakland, which improved to 19-9 since the All-Star break -- the best record in the majors.

at Boston 8, Baltimore 7: Manny Ramirez singled in the 10th inning, extending his hitting streak to 27 games, and left fielder Brandon Fahey overran the ball for an error that allowed the winning run to score. Wily Mo Pena homered, tripled and doubled for Boston.

Toronto 4, at Minnesota 0: Reed Johnson hit a two-run homer for the second consecutive game and left-hander Scott Downs worked five innings for the Blue Jays. The Twins, who have lost three in a row, grounded into five double plays to tie a club record.

at Cleveland 5-6, Kansas City 4-5: Travis Hafner doubled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, giving him 100 runs batted in, and the Indians finished a sweep of their doubleheader. Hafner also delivered the deciding hit in the opener, a run-scoring single with two out in the ninth. The Indians have won five in a row for the first time since April.
