* ValueClick Inc., a Westlake Village-based Internet advertising company, said it had acquired London-based for about $13.3 million.

* The San Jose Mercury News and its union agreed tentatively on a two-year contract that reduces the number of job cuts to be made. The daily newspaper agreed to eliminate 27.5 full-time positions instead of the 69 positions originally slated to be cut.
