Streaking Suns top Warriors

The Phoenix Suns are still streaking, thanks largely to Boris Diaw.

The Frenchman had his fifth career triple-double Friday night to help the Suns run their winning streak to 13 games -- one shy of the team record -- with a 105-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Phoenix.

“Boris was unbelievable,” Coach Mike D’Antoni said.

The Suns, though, were far from their best after a five-game trip. They led by 25 early in the second quarter, but blew most of it by halftime and trailed by as many as eight in the third quarter.

“Sometimes the ball is falling in your hands, and sometimes your teammates make big shots,” said Diaw of his 21 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Amare Stoudemire had 25 points, including a three-point play that put Phoenix ahead for good, 97-95, with 3:46 to play.

Monta Ellis scored 24 points for the Warriors. The Suns play at Sacramento tonight and will try to match their team-record 14-game winning streak set in December 1992.

Chicago 117, Milwaukee 111 -- Ben Wallace had a season-high 27 rebounds and added 10 points and the Bulls finished a 7-1 homestand.

Dallas 93, Philadelphia 79 -- Jason Terry scored 18 points and the host Mavericks cruised to victory against the 76ers, who were without Allen Iverson and Chris Webber and lost their 10th in a row.

Atlanta 97, Memphis 88 -- Zaza Pachulia scored 22 points, Speedy Claxton added 19 points and the Hawks ruined Pau Gasol’s season debut by beating the Grizzlies in Memphis, Tenn.

Boston 119, Denver 114 -- Paul Pierce scored 38 points and Tony Allen added a career-high 30 to help the host Celtics extend their winning streak to four.

Indiana 112, New York 96 -- Danny Granger scored 25 points and the Pacers made a season-high 12 three-point baskets to win at Indianapolis.

Cleveland 106, Seattle 84 -- Larry Hughes, making his second consecutive start after missing 10 games because of a sprained ankle, scored 25 points and the Cavaliers won at Cleveland.
