A man whose charred remains were found in the Angeles National Forest earlier this week was the victim of a homicide, Los Angeles County coroner’s officials said Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies responding to an anonymous phone call Monday found the remains in a restroom at Camp Colby on Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, died from multiple stab wounds before his body was burned, according to the coroner.
