Gratitude to troops

Kudos to Robert C.J. Parry for telling it like it is in his Feb. 12 article (“The war you didn’t see,” Current). Many of us realize we are being bombarded with a one-sided version of the war in Iraq, so it is nice for a change to see something in print that validates what we know at heart. Thank you, Lt. Parry, and the members of the 1st Battalion of the 184th Infantry Regiment.

With the exception of the few immature NCOs who caused problems, you are all heroes, every single one of you. And we Americans who sit calmly inside our protected enclosures watching TV without a care in the world, while these brave young men guard our interests, owe you a huge debt of gratitude that can never, ever be fully repaid.
