New MWD Chief Will Earn $210,000 a Year
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The new general manager of the Metropolitan Water District will earn at least $210,000 a year, officials said Tuesday.
Jeffrey Kightlinger, 46, won the agency’s top job during a closed session of its directors last week.
Kightlinger outpolled former Democratic Assemblyman Richard Katz, who had been Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s choice for the job.
In addition to his base salary, Kightlinger, the agency’s former general counsel, will be eligible for performance bonuses.
