Leave the scissors at home too

Share

JANE ENGLE’S Travel Insider column [“This Much Is Sure: Leave the Crowbar at Home,” Feb. 12] says, “Passengers can now carry scissors with a cutting edge of 4 inches or shorter, plus tools, such as screwdrivers and wrenches, smaller than 7 inches.”

This action does not make me feel safer. Why would anyone need to carry such objects on a plane? Does this mean President Bush no longer believes there is a terrorist threat against U.S. aircraft?

The flight attendants and the public need to protest these changes as strongly as possible and vociferously support the bill by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) to rescind the changes.
