School Board Member’s Brain Tumor Removed
School board member Jon Lauritzen is recovering from brain surgery he underwent last week.
After weeks of having problems seeing, Lauritzen said doctors removed a small tumor from the part of the brain that controls vision.
Lauritzen, 67, expects to learn from doctors later this week whether further treatment is needed.
Lauritzen, who was first elected to the Los Angeles school board in 2003 and whose term ends next year, spent two days in the hospital. He said he plans to attend at least part of today’s board meeting.
