Road Rage Investigated in 5-Vehicle Watts Crash
Los Angeles police officers were investigating whether road rage was a factor in a five-vehicle accident Saturday in Watts that sent seven people to a hospital, but none with life-threatening injuries.
The accident was reported at 2:08 p.m. at South Central Avenue and 114th Street, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The cause of the accident was under investigation, but Officer Mike Lopez, an LAPD spokesman, said officers were trying to determine whether road rage was involved.
“From what I understand, there was some sort of verbal dispute between the drivers of the first two cars,” Lopez said.
The injured people transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center included a 5-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl, Humphrey said.
