Grizzlies Hang Loss on Seattle

Dahntay Jones made a one-handed shot from 14 feet with 6.6 seconds left to help the visiting Memphis Grizzlies hold on for a 100-96 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday night.

Pau Gasol led six Grizzlies in double figures with 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Shane Battier added 19 and tied a career-high with five three-point shots, and Eddie Jones had 17.

Ray Allen led Seattle with 28 points and Rashard Lewis added 19. Seattle has lost six of its last eight at home.

Memphis closed out its trip short-handed. Guard Damon Stoudamire tore his right patellar tendon on Friday night in Portland and might be out for the season. Coach Mike Fratello said Stoudamire would be further evaluated when the team returns to Memphis. Stoudamire was at Saturday’s game, wearing a large brace.

Phoenix 107, Chicago 98 -- Shawn Marion scored eight of his 28 points in overtime and Eddie House made a key three-pointer to lead the visiting Suns.

Kirk Hinrich scored 12 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the sixth consecutive loss for the Bulls.

San Antonio 98, Denver 88 -- Tim Duncan scored 25 points and Manu Ginobili, still working his way back from a foot injury, added 20 off the bench in Denver.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points for the Nuggets, who have lost four of their last five at home.

Dallas 95, New Orleans 90 -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points in Oklahoma City to lead the Mavericks to their 16th consecutive victory over the Hornets.

Jason Terry and Josh Howard scored 20 apiece for the Mavericks. David West led the Hornets with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Golden State 94, Houston 89 -- Baron Davis scored 23 points and Jason Richardson added 22 at Houston.

Davis also had seven assists and five rebounds and Richardson finished with six rebounds and five assists for the Warriors, who have won three in a row. Tracy McGrady led Houston with 32 points and 10 rebounds.

Utah 108, Philadelphia 102 -- Andrei Kirilenko converted a three-point play with 18.9 seconds remaining and Utah, which led by as many as 15, won in Salt Lake City by scoring the final seven points.

Allen Iverson had 37 points for the 76ers, who fell to 1-3 on a seven-game trip.
