The tour with ad-ed value

The promotional tie-ins with phone services, cable channels, websites, sports leagues, retail stores, etc., might dilute the music’s spirit of rebellion, but those are the kind of connections that have kept the Vans Warped Tour the most reasonably priced -- and therefore longest-lasting and most successful -- of the recurring summer rock mobilizations. This year’s Southland swing includes the untapped territory of the Dodger Stadium parking lot, one of three area sites to be graced by the matriarchal presence of Joan Jett, a highlight of a lineup that also includes Saves the Day, NOFX, the Pink Spiders, Helmet, Rise Against, Thursday and Underoath, to name just a few of the 80-plus acts.

Vans Warped Tour, Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona. Noon Friday. $29.75. (909) 623-3111.

* Also: Noon Tuesday at Seaside Park, 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura, $29.75, (805) 648-3376; and noon Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, 1000 Elysian Park Ave., L.A., $29.75, (213) 480-3232.
