Groomsman Is Critically Hurt in 115-MPH Crash

A motorist who crashed going an estimated 115 mph remained in critical condition Sunday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Darryl Fontana, 54, of Folsom, Calif., was a groomsman at a wedding Saturday when he and the groom went for a joy ride about 9:15 p.m., said sheriff’s officials.
Deputies estimated that the 2001 Ferrari was traveling about 115 mph when it crashed into two parked cars on Niguel Road near Monarch Beach Drive. The groom was unhurt.
An investigation is pending.
