Springsteen’s folksy turn

Share

Bruce Springsteen has faced a little second-guessing for his choice of songs on his new album, “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions,” which draws on the vast repertoire of folk-music patriarch Pete Seeger. But there hasn’t been much complaining about the spirited playing and inventive arrangements by the large band he’s assembled for the album and this tour, and anyone familiar with the artist won’t be surprised if he brings more pointed commentary and political bite to the proceedings when he stretches out in concert.

Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band. Greek Theatre, 2700 Vermont Canyon Road, L.A., 7:30 p.m. Monday, $59.50-$89.50, (323) 665-1927.
