OCTA Begins Weekend Metrolink Service
The Orange County Transportation Authority will begin offering weekend Metrolink service today, with face-painting, raffles, games and live entertainment at stations along the inaugural ride.
The OCTA is promoting its new service in response to rising gas prices, the authority said.
Metrolink’s weekend fare will be half the price of an adult weekday rate through Dec. 31.
The first train, from Santa Ana to Fullerton, will leave at 9:45 a.m. Festivities will be held at stations in San Juan Capistrano, Irvine, Orange and Fullerton.
