NO. 1 DUKE VS. NO. 8 GEORGE WASHINGTON

* Site: Greensboro, N.C. * Time: 10:10 a.m. PST.

* The Buzz: Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski wasn’t thrilled with the lackluster play of the Blue Devils in their 70-54 victory over Southern on Thursday. Only J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams produced much offense, and Southern’s quickness stymied Duke’s ball movement. The Colonials are even quicker and deeper. They are also unafraid of falling behind, confident their full-court pressure can bring them back fast. George Washington forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu, who had sat out the Colonials’ previous four games after needing minor knee surgery, looked sharp in his first game back, and George Washington will need him to be active on defense and for easy scoring off offensive rebounds.

NO. 4 LOUISIANA STATE VS. NO. 12 TEXAS A&M;

* Site: Jacksonville, Fla. * Time: 2:50 p.m. PST.

* The Buzz: The Aggies thrived against an equally undersized Syracuse team that was hampered by the groin injury to Gerry McNamara. They may have trouble matching up with LSU’s huge interior presence. Tiger forward Glen Davis, all 6 feet 9, 310 pounds of him, dominated in the middle during the Southeastern Conference season. The Aggies, who are on a 9-1 streak right now, will match Davis with 6-9, 250-pound Joseph Jones.
