City Council Bans Smoking in Parks

Healdsburg has become the first city in Sonoma County to ban smoking in its parks.
Council members reached unanimous agreement Monday to pass the ordinance, which will come back for a formal vote in coming weeks. First-time violators will face a $100 fine.
A number of California cities now forbid smoking at public beaches. Last week, Calabasas began enforcing what appears to be the nation’s first ban on smoking in all outdoor public spaces.
