Getty picks team to find new chief

The Getty Trust, which three months ago accepted the resignation of top executive Barry Munitz, on Tuesday announced the search committee that would seek his successor.

The committee will be led by Louise H. Bryson, a Getty trustee since 1998. Other trustees on the committee include Agnes Gund, Joanne Kozberg, Luis Nogales, William E. B. Siart, Mark Siegel and Jay S. Wintrob. The trustees formalized that plan at their quarterly meeting Monday, spokesman Ron Hartwig said.

Munitz, who left the Getty in February, resigned his $1-million-a-year position amid controversy over his leadership and spending. A state Attorney General’s probe of trust finances is pending, Hartwig said.

Since Munitz’s departure, veteran Getty administrator Deborah Marrow has served as interim chief executive.

The search committee’s members, who have not set a deadline, will work with Korn Ferry International, the same executive search firm that joined in the search for Getty museum Director Michael Brand, who started in January.
