7 injured by gunfire at Halloween street party

Seven people were shot Tuesday night as a Halloween street party in the Castro district wound down, police said.
The shooting occurred about 10:40 p.m. as authorities dispersed thousands of revelers under a new curfew aimed at controlling the raucous event.
Two people were taken to hospitals with life-threatening injuries, and five others also were injured by gunfire, said police spokesman Sgt. Neville Gittens.
Several people were detained, he said.
