Man kills ex-girlfriend, then himself
A 29-year-old man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend in a Northridge apartment, then turned the gun on himself, police said Saturday.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of gunshots at an apartment complex at 20258 Roscoe Blvd., authorities said. As they approached an upstairs unit, there were more shots and a bullet crashed through a window.
Inside the apartment, the SWAT team found the bodies of Jessica Vasquez, 26, and her ex-boyfriend, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family.
“All I know is that they got into an argument and it got heated, and he started to shoot her in the chest,” said Officer April Harding.
