PARTING SHOTS

Former Detroit center Ben Wallace sees in his Chicago Bulls what he says the Pistons used to be “as far as on the defensive end, not letting guys break a defense down, holding everybody accountable for their actions.”

“He wasn’t really going to change the way he was doing things,” he said of Pistons Coach Flip Saunders, with whom he feuded over defense before signing with the Bulls last summer.

“If I went back there, it really would have been a distraction. For the team, the city, everyone else.”

SVELTE ANTHONY

The Denver Nuggets point to the scales as a measure of Carmelo Anthony’s maturity.

“When he came here, he was 253 pounds and had 12% body fat,” said Steve Hess, the Nuggets’ strength and conditioning coach. Now, “he’s at 231 and 7%.”

Hess, who revamped Anthony’s diet, said he even gets calls from Anthony at restaurants about how to order.
