The 1970s kids’ television show “The Electric Company” is available for viewing again thanks to a new “Best of the Electric Company” DVD coming out this week. Where the playground glitterati went when they were so over Sesame Street. (Tuesday)

What you wish you were able to talk about: Contemporary Chinese cinema. The AFI Film Festival closes out with the world premiere of director Zhang Yimou’s (“The House of Flying Daggers,” “Hero,” “Raise the Red Lantern”) expansive and expensive new “Curse of the Golden Flower.” The movie is China’s official selection for this year’s Oscar for best foreign film. What you should be talking about: L.A. rapper the Game returns with his second album, “The Doctor’s Advocate.” Since his debut in 2005, Game has been abandoned

by everyone from his mentor, Dr. Dre, to his brother, so expect him to get a lot off his heavily tattooed chest. (Tuesday)

What you’ll be only semi-embarrassed to talk about: Emilio Estevez. The emo-jock from “The Breakfast Club,” has written, directed and co-stars in “Bobby,” a film about 22 strangers who were at the Ambassador Hotel on the night Robert F. Kennedy was shot there in 1968. The cast reads like Annie Liebovitz’s to-do list: Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Christian Slater, etc. (Friday)

What you have no good excuse to talk about: The last day of “House of Carters.” It may have come to your attention that there is a reality television show on E! about what happens when former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his four siblings decide, for the sake of free publicity, to move into a house together. That plan didn’t work out too well, as Nov. 12 marks the season finale. (Today)
