A high-risk sex offender wearing an electronic ankle bracelet was arrested on suspicion of violating his parole after he allegedly trespassed onto an elementary school campus, Los Angeles police said Saturday.

Ronald Bryant, 37, was taken into custody Friday after an officer monitoring Bryant’s movements noticed he had walked onto Parmelee Avenue Elementary School grounds at 1338 E. 76th Place, police said.

Bryant arrived at the school, which was closed, about 10 a.m. and stayed for 15 minutes, police said.

Police tracked Bryant to a South Gate motel where he had been staying and arrested him.

Officials credited the arrest to a pilot program started in June, which uses global positioning system technology to monitor sex offenders.
