Nobody can ever say Bend A Little has to carry her turf course around with her. The 5-year-old Benny The Dip mare has six wins in her career and each has come at a different track.

Making her Hollywood Park debut, Bend A Little, a 9-1 shot, won the $61,800 Hermosa Beach Handicap on Saturday. Owned by Cynthia Knight and trained by Christophe Clement, Bend a Little had won at Calder, Gulfstream Park, Belmont Park, Saratoga and Delaware Park.

Ridden by Jose Valdivia Jr., Bend A Little, making her first start at 1 1/2 miles, was never far off the slow pace set by longshot Lasika, angled out at the head of the stretch, got the lead and safely held 3-1 second choice Aubonne to win by 1 1/4 lengths. The final time was 2:29.10.

In the other two races, favored Revved Up won the $150,000 Bonnie Heath Turf Cup under jockey Eddie Castro and Edgar Prado guided 8-1 shot D’artagnans’spirit to a head win over 31-1 outsider Eternal Look in the $150,000 Jack Dudley Sprint Handicap.
