Santa Ana man robbed, then dies in hit-and-run
A man walking to work early Monday was mugged, left lying in the street and killed by a hit-and-run driver, authorities said.
Jose Garcia, 34, of Santa Ana was in the 300 block of West Taft Avenue about 1:30 a.m. when three males assaulted him and fled, police said. Garcia died moments later when he was run over by a cream-colored minivan whose driver also fled.
Both the driver and the muggers, who are not believed to be associated, were being sought by police.
