Ridnour sets new high as road streak grows

Luke Ridnour scored a career-high 32 points and Seattle opened a 28-point, first-half lead and then held off a late New Jersey Nets rally in posting a 119-113 victory on Monday night at East Rutherford, N.J., giving the road-weary SuperSonics their third straight win while ending a five-game trip.

Ridnour’s previous high was 30 points.

Rashard Lewis added 27 points, and Ray Allen and Chris Wilcox had 22 apiece for the SuperSonics. The Nets got within five in the final 1:39 before Ridnour sealed the game with four free throws.

Vince Carter had a season-high 38 points for the Nets.

Cleveland 102, New York 96 -- LeBron James and Damon Jones scored 29 points apiece, with Jones making seven of 10 three pointers, to help drop the Knicks to 0-3 at Madison Square Garden.

Jones had 24 of his points in the first half and James had 19 of his in the second to lift the Cavaliers to their third straight victory. Nate Robinson had 19 points for the Knicks, who rallied to within two points with 6:15 left but could get no closer.

Orlando 92, Boston 89 -- Jameer Nelson scored 24 points at Boston to help the Magic hold on after blowing an 11-point third-quarter lead to win for the fourth time in five games after a 1-2 start.

Paul Pierce scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half for Boston.
