From Times Staff Reports

A propane truck caught fire on the Hollywood Freeway on Sunday, delaying afternoon traffic for nearly two hours, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The truck was destroyed and asphalt melted, but no one was hurt in the 1:50 p.m. incident, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said. The truck was southbound, just south of Santa Monica Boulevard when it ignited. Two southbound lanes were closed and traffic was backed up for about two miles as workers put out the fire and removed the truck, Kimball said.
