Nuisance TV

Re “Bus-see TV,” So-Cal Life, Nov. 20

Tim Cavanaugh’s piece was far too rosy a review of this public nuisance. The TransitTVs are an insult to bus riders. Surely the MTA would not put such devices on its rail lines and besiege its more affluent ridership with debt consolidation advertisements and the weather conditions in Dallas. If Metro is looking for new ways to make money, it should install TransitTV in all the cars of MTA executives to pester them during their drive to work -- or better yet, make them actually take the bus to see what it’s like. They might even learn of a great way to retire some of the agency’s debt.
