Warriors halt Jazz streak

Matt Barnes scored a career-high 24 points, including 17 in the third quarter, and the Golden State Warriors handed the Utah Jazz only their second loss this season with a 91-78 victory Saturday night at Oakland.

The Jazz, which had won eight games in a row, shot 32.5% from the field and committed 23 turnovers. Utah was limited to its lowest point total this season.

Dallas 85, New Orleans 73 -- Dirk Nowitzki had 28 points and nine rebounds, and the host Mavericks stretched their winning streak to nine games.

The Mavericks have won 18 games in a row against the Hornets dating to November 1999, when the franchise was in Charlotte, N.C.

Detroit 115, Washington 111 -- Chauncey Billups scored 29 points at Washington and the Pistons got their sixth consecutive victory.

Five Pistons scored in double figures, including Tayshaun Prince, who had 21 points. Billups made 18 of 19 free throws, both career highs.

Gilbert Arenas had 28 points for the Wizards, who lost their fourth game in a row.

Cleveland 108, Philadelphia 95 -- LeBron James had 25 points and 11 assists to help the Cavaliers extend their home winning streak to six.

Allen Iverson had 31 points for the 76ers.

Miami 102, Charlotte 93 -- Dwyane Wade had 35 points and 12 assists at Charlotte, N.C., to help the Heat end a three-game losing streak.

Rookie Adam Morrison matched a career high with 27 points for the Bobcats, who lost their second game in a row and are 1-8 all-time against Miami.

Orlando 98, Atlanta 79 -- Carlos Arroyo scored 15 points, Dwight Howard had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and the Magic coasted at Orlando, Fla.

Joe Johnson had 16 points for the Hawks, who shot only 36% and committed 20 turnovers.

Chicago 106, New York 95 -- Luol Deng scored 24 points at New York and the Bulls ended a six-game losing streak.

Bulls Coach Scott Skiles was ejected after receiving two technical fouls for arguing, and Steve Francis of the Knicks was ejected after picking up his second technical in the final minute.

Houston 85, Memphis 76 -- Yao Ming scored 28 points and Tracy McGrady matched a career high with 13 assists for the Rockets and helped keep the Grizzlies winless in seven road games.

Boston 111, Milwaukee 98 -- Paul Pierce scored 34 points, 16 in the third quarter, and the Celtics overcame a 14-point halftime deficit at Milwaukee.

Sacramento 105, Portland 85 -- Kevin Martin scored 27 points and Mike Bibby contributed 20 for the host Kings, who led by 22 points at halftime and, despite a sluggish fourth quarter, managed to maintain a double-digit lead.
