Update -- Chivas USA is seeking to shake off last Saturday’s 3-0 loss to the Galaxy and clinch an MLS playoff spot for the first time. Coach Bob Bradley’s team can do it by winning tonight or by seeing two of the following three things happen: the Houston Dynamo winning or tying at Real Salt Lake, FC Dallas defeating or tying the Galaxy in Texas and the Colorado Rapids losing at home to the New York Red Bulls. Shrugging off the loss to the Galaxy, Chivas USA midfielder Jesse Marsch said, “We’ve just got to move on because we’ve got bigger fish to fry,” a not-so-subtle jab at the Galaxy, which could miss the playoffs. Forward Ante Razov and midfielder Juan Pablo Garcia returned to training this week after both suffered stomach-muscle injuries. Razov, the league’s second-leading goal scorer, is listed as questionable; Garcia is considered probable for tonight’s match. Kansas City, which needs the victory because it is in a neck-and-neck race with the New York Red Bulls for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, will be without defender Shavar Thomas, who is with Jamaica’s national team for its friendly international against Canada. If the Wizards fail to reach the playoffs, tonight’s match will be the final MLS game played at Arrowhead Stadium, which will be refurbished next season. The Wizards will move elsewhere in the Kansas City area in 2007.
