Update -- Any drama that might have existed for today’s game vanished Saturday night when the Colorado Rapids got an 88th-minute goal from Jacob Peterson and ended up tying the Dynamo, 3-3, at Houston and thus clinched the fourth and final playoff place in the Western Conference. Real Salt Lake needed Colorado to lose to have a chance of grabbing that same berth with a victory today. Instead, there is little or nothing to play for either team. Real is out of playoff contention, and Chivas USA already has clinched third place in the West and will begin the playoffs with a two-game series against Houston. Chivas Coach Bob Bradley probably will rest starters Juan Pablo Garcia and Ante Razov, both recovering from injuries.
